State of the Art X-ray Machine
Crystallise! AG has a Bruker D8 Venture diffractometer. Equipped with Mo and Cu sources and a Kryo-flex unit for low temperature measurements
Advantage of our Machine and Settings
With a Photon II detector and a copper micro source Crystallise! AG can measure extremely small crystals. This is a great advantage as such crystals will not diffract well in other machines. The smallest crystal size (so far) that we have successfully measured was 0.01 x 0.01 x 0.04 mm3.
D8 Venture Machine @ Crystallise! AG.
Dual Source Mo and Cu radiation.
With the Micro-Cu X-ray source we obtain strong intensities, even from very small crystals.
Absolute Structure determination for light atom structures can be performed using this X-ray source.
The diffractometer has a top of the art
Photon II detector .
The cryo-unit is useful for meta-stable hydrates or solvates systems
Our machine is equipped with a Kryo-Flex unit. With it, samples can be cooled down to 90 K (-183°C).
We also can crystallize in situ pure liquid samples.
Example of a small crystal (0.04 x 0.04 x 0.01 mm3) measured successfully on this device.
This crystal is 60'000 times smaller in volume than a sugar crystal!
Size does matters! In many cases, larger size crystals can not be easily obtained. Being able to measure and analyse small size crystals is of great advantage for our customers.
LeicaM80 @ Crystallise! AG
A good microscope is essential for choosing the right crystal. Crystallise! AG has a Leica M80 polarizing stereomicroscope. This microscope is equipped with a high resolution camera and bright-field, reflected and/or polarized ilumination. All these settings allow us to have a full documentation of the crystals chosen for the X-ray analysis.
If you are at our site and we are picking one of your crystals, you can look at the screen to see how your sample/crystal(s) look!

Fully equipped chemical laboratory
Crystallise! AG runs an independent chemical laboratory. Our lab is equipped with two fume hoods and a high vakuum Schlenk line.
As part of our "exotic" glassware, Crystallise! has special greaseless Schlenk tubes. These "flasks" are used for special crystallization techniques under low temperature. A glass stem tap allows to cool the flask down to -90°C without having risk of leakage. Ordinary glass flasks with grease taps can not be cooled down as the greased joints will not remain tight during the cooling process. Furhtermore, since these flasks are greaseless, there is no risk of contamination of the sample inside.
Why waste time and effort in crystallizing yourself samples for X-ray analysis? Our experience and know how will save you time and money. Our broad portofolio of crystallization techniques will guarantee a high rate of crystallization success.
High Vakuum Schlenk Line @ Crystallise! AG
Using this Schlenk line and a combination of vakuum and innert gas pressure techniques, Crystallise! can produce single crystals from samples which do not crystallize using "standard" crystallazitaion thechniques.
Many other non "standard" crystallization techniques are part of our portfolio too.
